Where the time goes on a first run

Samples

Before production, you approve a sample. Samples take about one week for capsules, powders and tablets, and about four weeks for liquids and gummies, which need stability checks before they can be judged. Two rounds of revisions are included.

Formulation, for custom products

A custom formula moves through five steps: the concept, ingredient sourcing (one to two weeks), a prototype prepared at production scale under cGMP (about two days), a stability assessment at 40°C and 75% relative humidity, and validation, which ends with the Master Manufacturing Record that production follows.

Order and labels

Once the sample is approved, our R&D team writes the Master Manufacturing Record and you receive the final quote. The lead time starts when the order is signed and the deposit is paid. Powders and liquids also wait for your approved label artwork, so send final labels as early as you can.

Testing

Every batch is tested in curí, the ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory on our Cedartown, Georgia campus, and ships with a certificate of analysis. Identity and microbial testing are included on every batch. Because the lab is on the same campus, batches don't wait in an outside lab's queue.

What adds time to a first run

• Ingredient sourcing: ingredients we don't already hold in stock take longer to secure.
• Formulation and revisions: each sample round adds time, and liquids and gummies take longest to sample.
• Stability testing: if your product needs a stability study, plan for it before launch.
• Labels and trademark clearance: production of powders and liquids can't start without approved labels, and a brand name should be cleared before it goes on a package.

How to shorten your timeline

• Start from a stock formula. It skips formulation, and you can still adjust the flavor, actives or dose.
• Finish your label artwork early. Powder and liquid runs can't start without it.
• Pick your format with timing in mind. Capsule, powder and tablet samples take about a week; liquid and gummy samples take about four.
• Plan your reorders. Second runs of 30,000 units or more take four weeks.
